Monthly area
of ice extent: Single numbers providing the total area (in km2) for
the whole Arctic Ocean region and for regional areas
o Arctic Ocean: The area covered by ice within each SIC product
o Regional: The regions used for analysis are based on the forecast
regions of the NIC.
Days of ice cover
per year: This is a raster image product where each pixel is coded
according to the number of days it is covered by ice each calendar
year.
Date of ice break-up:
Another raster image product where each pixel represents the number
of days past a certain date when the pixel can be said to be ice free
or open water
