This is a raster product showing the date of ice break-up. The date is given as the Julian day of break-up. Break-up is defined as having occurred on a particular date if there has been ice in that location for more than 28 days, and the ice does not return within 7 days following the date of break-up.

The product is based on the Sea Ice Concentration (SIC) product and is stored as 1 km resolution raster image.
