This is a scalar product showing the area covered with sea ice in one of the 23 regions defined by U.S. National Ice Center for their forecasts. The product is shown as a histogram. Each column shows the area of a specific sea ice concentration, given in intervals of 5 %: 1-5 %, 6-10 % and so on, until 96-100 % concentration.

The product is based on the Sea Ice Concentration (SIC) product.
