Ice Multiyear (SIM) is the percentage of ice that is multi-year, i.e. sea ice
that has survived one or more summer melt seasons. The product is derived from
a standard algorithm whose input parameters are adjusted to the time of year
and are determined by statistical analysis of the historical archive. Data is
also processed to provide data in a numerical form.
