Glacial ice will normally pick up rock debris along its way, both from the rock floor it moves on and from the valley sides. Sizes range from huge angular boulders to pulverized rock. The rocks will often be stuck at the bottom of the ice and pushed along the rock floor, creating scraping marks that can become hundreds of metres long.
